On December 8th, 2010, a delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology, led by Dr.Nguyen Quang Tuan, visited DTU
Dr. Vo Thanh Hai, DTU research technologists and I/T lecturers welcomed the group.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang Huy gives a report on research at DTU.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Quang Huy, the Assistant Vice Rector briefly introduced DTU research projects over the past few years. Since DTU was founded, faculty and students have focused on the development of scientific research. There are three applied research centers at the university, CSE, CIT and CEE.
The Centre of Software Engineering (CSE) is responsible for designing solutions and building software applications for management and training. The Centre of Information Technology (CIT) builds and manages I/T facilities such as the data center, the system servers, all systems management and network issues and the telephone system. The Center of Electrical Engineering (CEE) is responsible for research in the field of electronic communications, microcontrollers, embedded systems and mobile devices. The CEE also coordinates with the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications to help students conducting scientific research and writing theses in this field.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan highly appreciated the investments that DTU has made in research and the applications of new technologies for the management and training at the university. He also stressed that DTU should also direct its research to assist the local community and local business. This might prove to be a timely and practical way of leveraging the DTU technical expertise.
The DTU Management Board has always focused on using the results of applied experimental research in the development of its highly-trained graduates. Armed with these unique skills they are then able to become productive as soon as they start working, without the need of further training or retraining by their employers.
