On 11th July 2009, the final round of the DTU Faculty Karaoke Contest took place at the K7/25 Quang
Trung Campus, with 12 contestants selected for the first
round.
Each contestant performed two songs in different musical genres. In
addition to DTU staff, the judges included Mr. Sy Linh, a DTU former student and now a composer and singer.
The songs varied from passionate and melodious songs like "Hanoi in Autumn" , "Call from Hien Luong Wharf " to such lively ones such as "I wanna live with you all My life" and "Flame of high Plateau". The various voices and styles of the contestants feelings of intimacy between the performers and the audience.
With her professional
performance, contestant Ms.Truong Le Hong Ngoc from the Faculty of Foreign
Languages won over the audience, and was the only singer to attain the
maximum points marked by the computer with the song “I wanna live with you all life”. Besides, the singing voice of
singer Trieu Hoang Xuyen, Trinh Dinh Thanh as well as the stylist of Ho
Xuan Binh, also left many good impressions in the hearts of the audience.
At the end of the contest, the
organizers granted awards to the five winners. Mr. Ngo Duc Minh won first prize for the men's solo performance and Truong Le Hong Ngoc for the
women' solo. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Ba and Ms. Truong Le Hong Ngoc won the first
prize in the duet. The organizers also gave consolation prizes to Ms Nguyen
Thi Bach Duong and Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, who were the two oldest singers in the
contest.
