On the morning of January 10, 2026, DTU celebrated Vietnamese Students’ Day (commemorating the events of January 9, 1950). The university also honored and rewarded collectives and individual students with outstanding achievements in 2024–2025.

Hero of Labor Le Cong Co expressed his trust and expectations for students in the new stage of development
The ceremony was an opportunity to reflect on the 76-year journey of the Vietnamese student movement of patriotism, steadfast fighting spirit, and the enduring aspiration to contribute among the young. The pioneering role of students in learning, scientific research, innovation, and community service was reaffirmed amid today’s context of international integration and digital transformation.
In his remarks at the ceremony, Hero of Labor Le Cong Co, Party Secretary and DTU Chairman, shared some profound insights into the historical significance of Vietnamese Students’ Day and expressed his trust and expectations for students in the new stage of development: “January 9, 2026, is a sacred historical milestone that reminds us of the patriotism, resilience, and aspiration to contribute of previous generations of students. This tradition was forged in the struggle to defend the nation and still runs strong today through learning, creativity, and nation-building.
“The students are always at the center of all DTU’s development strategies. I hope that every DTU student will continue cultivating their knowledge, spirit, and character; dare to dream big and take initiative; and find ways to serve community and country with their own capabilities and sense of responsibility. The university will always be there for you and create the best possible conditions for your comprehensive development - that you may grow into knowledgeable citizens with aspiration who make meaningful contributions to society in the new era.”

Exemplary students and collectives were honored and rewarded for their remarkable achievements
A key highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of awards to hundreds of exemplary students and collectives with many remarkable achievements:
- students who had won prestigious international scholarships such as from Boeing, Penn State, and California State,
- students standing out in studies and training;
- collectives and individuals who had won high prizes in international, national, and regional competitions;
- individuals awarded national-level “January Star” and “Student of Five Merits” titles;
- “Student of Five Merits” titles at various other levels.
These achievements vividly demonstrate DTU’s dynamic and comprehensive training environment, where students are not only equipped with solid professional knowledge but are also encouraged to engage in scientific research, unleash their creativity, enhance their global integration skills, and actively contribute to the community.
The celebration of Vietnamese Students’ Day at DTU concluded in a solemn, warm, and inspiring ‘atmosphere. Besides being an occasion to look back on the proud historical traditions of previous generations of Vietnamese students, the ceremony was also a source of confidence and motivation for today’s DTU students to continue cultivating their ethics, honing their talents, nurturing their aspirations, and serving the fatherland in the new era.
