The 2012 International Coastal Clean-up Day
On the occasion of the 2012 International Coastal Clean-up Day, students of the DTU Department of Tourism and the Vocational College collaborated with members of Youth Union in the Dien Duong and Dien Ban Districts and at The Nam Hai Resort to clean up the beaches.
The event was first held in 1985, by the Environmental Studies of Office of Toxic Substances, under the control of United States Environmental Protection Agency. It was backed by many international NGOs and countries. In Vietnam, the ICCD was first held on the 23rd of September, 2000 by the International Marinelife Alliance (IMA), forerunner of the MCD, at Nha Trang and Khanh Hoa. Since then, it has spread across many other regions of the country.
More than one hundred students from the Tourism Department and Vocational College and one hundred members of Youth Union in Dien Duong worked with the Nam Hai Resort staff to clean up the five kilometer beach at the Nam Hai Resort.
