On August 15, 2026, DTU held the opening ceremony for its 32nd Master’s and 19th Doctoral programs, marking the beginning of a new academic and research journey for the University’s graduate students and doctoral candidates. The ceremony also provided an opportunity for the new students to define their academic and research goals and prepare for the challenges of postgraduate education.

People’s Teacher, Prof. Dr. Tran Huu Dang, DTU Vice- Provost, said: “As you begin your postgraduate programs, the most important objective is not simply to complete the required coursework or earn another degree. The true value of this journey lies in transforming the way you think: learning to ask the right questions, question ideas on the basis of evidence, seek out and evaluate evidence, select appropriate methodologies, and translate research findings into practical value. A meaningful thesis or dissertation does not necessarily have to begin with an overly ambitious topic. It must, however, begin with a clearly defined problem, be conducted honestly and methodically, and contribute reliable knowledge or solutions. 

As AI rapidly transforms education, research, and every professional field, you must take the initiative in mastering this technology. AI can support information retrieval, analysis, simulation, and productivity, but it cannot replace independent thinking, a researcher’s sense of responsibility, or a thorough understanding of real-world contexts. Every graduate students and doctoral candidates must use AI transparently and critically while complying with regulations concerning citation, copyright, data security, and academic integrity. Technology must never be allowed to diminish your capacity for critical thinking or turn a scholarly work into a product that lacks the author’s own contribution and accountability.”

This year, the Doctoral programs welcomed 24 candidates in Business Administration, Finance and Banking, Accounting, Computer Science, Pharmaceutical Administration and Management, and Solid State Physics. Meanwhile, 68 students enrolled in Master’s programs in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance and Banking, International Relations, Economic Law, Literature, Computer Science, Information Security, Management Information Systems, Civil Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Pharmaceutical Administration and Management, and Tourism and Travel Service Management.

This broad range of disciplines, including Economics, Management, Finance, Accounting, Law, International relations, Tourism, Computer science, Information security, Information systems, Engineering, and Physics, creates a multidisciplinary academic environment for graduate students and doctoral candidates. It also lays the foundation for interdisciplinary approaches to research, particularly in addressing real-world issues such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, sustainable development, healthcare management, and service quality improvement.

Speaking on behalf of the incoming students, Nguyen Van Thanh, Director of Operations at Furama Villas Danang, said: “Firstly, I would like to express our joy and pride in officially becoming Master’s students at DTU, a reputable institution that closely integrates academic knowledge with professional practice. As industries and professions continue to undergo profound changes driven by sustainable development, digital transformation, technological innovation, and international integration, returning to the classroom is about more than enhancing our qualifications and expanding our knowledge. It is also a serious investment in strengthening our professional thinking and creativity, improving our ability to develop new products and solutions, and becoming more adaptable to emerging trends. 

We fully understand that a master’s program requires discipline, initiative, and a commitment to continuous independent learning. We therefore pledge to take our studies seriously, participate actively in academic discussions, comply with the University’s regulations, build a united community, and support one another in both our studies and our professional endeavors.”
