Training Quality at DTU Backed by Imported Curricula, ABET Accreditation, and TedQual Certification
Besides improving facilities and lecturers, Duy Tan University (DTU) has elevated the quality of its training programs by importing advanced collaborative programs from leading American universities and by earning international accreditations such as ABET and TedQual.
These factors reinforce the reputation of training at DTU and provide students with international-quality programs and a competitive edge in the global job market.

DTU’s programs in Food Technology and in Construction Engineering
Technology earned ABET accreditation in 2025
DTU is one of two universities with most programs accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology (ABET, US) in Vietnam, namely six:
- Food Technology, accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) in August 2025,
- Construction Engineering Technology, accredited by ETAC in August 2025,
- Network Engineering, accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) in August 2019,
- Management Information Systems, accredited by CAC in August 2019,
- Electrical & Electronic Engineering, accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) in August 2020,
- Software Engineering, accredited by EAC in August 2021.
Unlike evaluation methods that assign ratings on a scale of 1 to 7 - such as AUN-QA for ASEAN universities or Vietnam’s domestic accreditation - ABET grants accreditation only to programs that satisfy their own rigorous and independent evaluation criteria. If a program fails to meet even one required criterion, it will not receive ABET accreditation and may, at most, be granted temporary conditional recognition for up to two years.

DTU’s tourism training has also reaffirmed its reputation and teaching quality with the successful renewal of its TedQual certification from the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO or UN Tourism) in May 2025. This recognizes the sustained compliance with international standards for education, professional training, and integration with practice for tourism & hospitality.
Two DTU programs, International Hotel Management and International Restaurant Operations Management, were certified by the UNWTO with a score of 789 out of 845 points and 93% of all criteria - an improvement over the first certification score of 771/845 points and 91.2% of criteria.

and International Restaurant Operations Management, valid from 2025 to 2028
In Vietnam, DTU is one of the universities that offer training programs certified under UN Tourism TedQual, the international education accreditation for tourism & hospitality. This important milestone means that DTU students are equipped with the knowledge and skills expected by employers and it expands their opportunities for employment and further study in an international environment.
Training programs imported from American universities
Across every major academic discipline, DTU has partnered with leading American universities to bring international-quality curricula to its students.
- IT students study programs transferred from Carnegie Mellon University, one of the four best universities for IT in the US (according to U.S. News 2025).
- Students in economics, management, and services follow curricula from Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), one of the fifty best universities in the US for economics & management (according to U.S. News 2025).
- Students in architecture & construction study programs transferred from California State University Fullerton, one of the leading public universities on the US West Coast for construction, and California Polytechnic (Cal Poly) San Luis Obispo, which is among the five best universities for architecture at the undergraduate level. These were the first advanced programs in these fields in Danang and the rest of Central Vietnam.
- Students in electrical & electronic engineering and in automation have access to quality curricula from Purdue University, one of the ten best universities in the US for engineering & technology.
