On the morning of March 8, 2026, the Faculty of Medical Engineering, DTU College of Medicine & Pharmacy held its first faculty-wide student gathering after the official establishment of the Faculty on January 26. The meeting was attended by the Faculty leadership, representatives from the various departments, and students from all classes across the Faculty’s three academic programs (Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, and Medical Laboratory Technology). The gathering provided lecturers and students with an opportunity to meet, interact, and strengthen connections within the Faculty.

Upon arrival, the students checked in and received identification stickers, which were a lively highlight and set an enthusiastic tone for the event. Next, they enjoyed vibrant musical performances presented by students of the Faculty. The singing and dancing created a cheerful and energetic atmosphere and showcased the youthful energy, enthusiasm, and dynamism of the students of the Faculty.

The students also watched an introductory video about the Faculty of Medical Engineering, which gave them a better understanding of training and scientific research in biotechnology, biomedical engineering, and medical laboratory technology; the Faculty’s upcoming development plans; and the academic environment at the Faculty.

Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyen Huu Toan, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Engineering, shared the lecturers’ thoughts and sentiments with the students on behalf of the Faculty leadership. “In our shared home at DTU, the lecturers are always ready to listen to your thoughts, feelings, aspirations, concerns, questions, and suggestions,” he said. “Through open dialogue and discussion, we wish to work with you to find appropriate solutions and to be there for you on your journey of learning and of discovering knowledge. Feel free to share your thoughts, concerns, and expectations, and trust that your lecturers are always ready to listen, understand, and support you with all their care, responsibility, and dedication throughout your academic journeys.”

Following Prof. Huu Toan’s remarks, the students confidently asked questions and shared their thoughts and aspirations related to studies, research, and future career directions. The lecturers were very happy with the students’ trust and openness, and they responded sincerely with their experience, perspectives, and guidance on overcoming difficulties in studies and when preparing for later lives.

The gathering of the Faculty of Medical Engineering brought many joyful and memorable moments

As the event was held on International Women’s Day, March 8, the gathering became even cozier when male students presented bouquets, cards, and cute wishes to the female students of the Faculty, leading to many joyful and memorable moments.
