With a score of 28.79 out of 30, Le Van Quyen has received a Full Scholarship (100% tuition fee waiver) from DTU. Achieving such a high score in the 2024 High School Graduation Exam helped Le Van Quyen, from Phan Dinh Phung High School in Ha Tinh, gain admission to two programs at DTU: Tourism Management and Fashion Design. In the C00 subject group, Le Van Quyen achieved an impressive 28.79/30. Choosing to study both Tourism and Fashion Design, Le Van Quyen has worked hard to overcome challenges and has been awarded the valuable Full Scholarship to pursue his dream of owning his own service and fashion brand in the future.
Achieving a Perfect Score of 10/10 in Geography
Born and raised in Tan Hoa village, Tan Lam Huong commune, Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province, Le Van Quyen understands the hardships of farming through numerous natural disasters, droughts, and poor harvests in the “burning furnace, rainy pocket” region. Additionally, Quyen's family is classified as poor, with their main income relying on a small plot of land and a meager wage from his parents’ labor, motivating him to stay determined in his academic journey.

“Every day, my parents work tirelessly on the fields and as laborers to save up enough to support the education of me and my three siblings. Witnessing their struggles and our family’s shortages, I can only strive to study hard, hoping to gain knowledge and qualifications that will give me the opportunity to change my own life and help my family more in the future,” Le Van Quyen shared.
Despite facing numerous obstacles due to his family’s financial situation, Le Van Quyen never lost heart and continued to work diligently towards his goal of attending his dream university.
Le Van Quyen’s hard work paid off when he scored 28.79/30 in the 2024 High School Graduation Exam, notably achieving a perfect 10/10 in Geography. Although talented and determined, Quyen remains humble, believing that he doesn’t have any special strategies for studying, but simply works hard and stays disciplined to achieve his self-set goals. Given his family’s difficult circumstances, Quyen also manages his study time efficiently to help with household chores.
Facilities for Tourism Training at DTU Meet Student Needs
Quyen added: “Since I couldn’t afford extra classes and had limited time for exam preparation, I made the most of my time by focusing on the core content in textbooks and lectures in class. The subject combinations I chose for admission were areas I liked and had certain strengths in, but I never became complacent during revision or in practice exams. Before the graduation exam, I worked hard to master basic knowledge while also using the internet to read additional materials and review my lessons while doing chores like grass cutting and cattle herding.”
Choosing DTU for a Big Dream
Quyen feels fortunate to have studied with dedicated and passionate teachers at Phan Dinh Phung High School in Ha Tinh. The encouragement and support from teachers and friends at this school provided additional motivation for him to study and succeed in his exams. After researching DTU online and receiving advice from senior students, Quyen found the learning environment at DTU to be highly dynamic, with excellent faculty and strong student support. This is what he was looking for in a university.

After much deliberation about whether to continue studying or temporarily pause due to financial constraints, Le Van Quyen decided to pursue both Tourism and Fashion Design at DTU. Quyen shared: “Since I was young, I’ve loved sewing machines and fabrics, and I enjoy immersing myself in designing beautiful outfits. Life would be wonderful if people are healthy, have global travel experiences, and feel confident in their appearance. My dream is to build my own global fashion brand. The fashion brand I envision will not only be aesthetically pleasing but also aligned with sustainable and environmentally friendly values. Additionally, I hope to contribute to promoting Vietnamese fashion excellence to the world.”
When reaching out to Quyen on these hot days, it was evident that the new DTU student is very happy, having just finished his last work session before heading to DTU. Full of determination and a deep love for his parents through his relentless efforts, Quyen hopes to fulfill his dreams on the journey he has chosen, with his childhood dreams continuing to burn brightly alongside his future success.
