For many years, DTU Tourism students have been able to "enjoy" high-quality education in this field, as most of the programs are "imported" from Pennsylvania State University, one of the top 50 schools for Business and Management in the U.S. (according to U.S. News 2023) and one of the top 5 schools for Tourism in the world (according to UNWTO). These programs include:

-    PSU-standard Hotel Tourism,
-    PSU-standard Travel Tourism, and
-    PSU-standard Restaurant Management.

Throughout their studies, students are provided with comprehensive knowledge and essential "soft" skills, a rich set of tools before entering the professional world. Students will receive between 19-21 course completion certificates issued by Pennsylvania State University, USA. Recognized by American universities, these certificates are valuable for students who wish to transfer to obtain a degree in the U.S. or pursue a Master's degree there.

Moreover, the quality of Tourism education at DTU was further validated when, on July 8, 2022, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) recognized two training programs, International Hotel Management and International Restaurant Management, as officially meeting the TedQual accreditation standards. These programs achieved a commendable score of 771/845 points, satisfying 91.2% of all criteria, and received accreditation for a period of three years.

This international accreditation is the same one chosen by Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Hong Kong PolyU), ranked the number one university worldwide for Tourism & Hospitality on numerous ranking lists, to accredit its own programs. It was Hong Kong Polytechnic University that provided direct consultation to and helped DTU achieve this accreditation. UNWTO.TedQual is often regarded as the “AACSB of Tourism.”

DTU was chosen as a co-organizer for the 17th UNWTO (United Nations World Tourism Organization) Asia-Pacific Executive Training Workshop on Tourism Policy and Strategy. The workshop was held from November 13 to 16, 2023, with the participation of 49 delegates, including leaders, managers, researchers, and experts from 19 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region, such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Japan, Iran, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Myanmar, Vietnam, and others. This is a significant event for senior government officials and public managers worldwide in the field of tourism and marks the first time UNWTO has held this important event at a university - DTU in Vietnam.

Placing high expectations in DTU's Tourism training programs, Prof. Dr. Mo Chul Min, former Vice Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of South Korea, decided to join the university as DTU Vice President and Dean of the DTU Hospitality & Tourism Institute.

With the efforts of Prof. Dr. Mo Chul Min, along with the dedication of the faculty, staff, and students of the DTU Hospitality & Tourism Institute, the training programs, student exchange initiatives, and cultural exchange activities have been conducted effectively, bringing new excitement to the school. The ASEAN-Korea Cultural Exchange Week, held by DTU in collaboration with the Korean Cultural Center in Hanoi and the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam, introduced a fresh wave of cultural connection and exchange activities, including cuisine between ASEAN countries and South Korea. As part of this event, 16 Korean artists from the New York Classical Music Society (NY CMS) delivered an inspiring performance at DTU on the evening of December 16, 2023.

This infusion of valuable energy further empowers DTU Tourism students to confidently pursue their studies and gain experiences. It also inspires confidence among prospective students with a passion for tourism, encouraging them to apply for university enrollment today.
