Achievements

 

 

The year 2023 marked an important milestone - the 40th anniversary of the establishment and operation of the Architecture Magazine. In addition to 12 special issues, the magazine accompanied various programs and activities from central to local levels with activities such as selection exams, seminars, and notably the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2023, which garnered much attention from the capital's residents.

 

Opening the program, Ms. Bui Thi Thanh Huong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief in charge of the Architecture Magazine, shared: "2023 is an important year for professional activities, marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Association of Architects. Despite being a challenging year for the economy in general, significantly affecting the professional work of architects in Vietnam, the Architecture Magazine has made efforts to leave its mark in various fields, while affirming the determination to implement the orientations and expectations entrusted by the Vietnam Association of Architects. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the leadership of the Vietnam Association of Architects for their trust and support in enabling the Architecture Magazine to carry out its tasks, to the steadfast efforts of the staff working in the editorial office, and to the partners and all contributors in various fields who have accompanied the magazine in its activities. In the coming year 2024, the Architecture Magazine will continue to develop with three main directions: (1) Affirming its position as the spokesperson of the Vietnam Association of Architects, the professional forum of architects in Vietnam through propaganda activities, connecting from central to local levels. (2) Being a scientific journal specialized in the field of planning and architecture, aiming to build a modern and distinctive architecture of Vietnam. (3) Being a reputable and professional media agency in the field of architecture and multidisciplinary connections."

 

Also during the ceremony, the Architecture Magazine introduced the Scientific Council established by the Vietnam Association of Architects according to Decision No. 05/QD-HKTSVN, with the role of providing professional guidance for the Architecture Magazine, advising on the implementation of magazine issues, and scientific evaluation of specialized articles published in the magazine. The Scientific Council of the Architecture Magazine includes:

With the assistance and advice of experts in the Council, the magazine aims to strive to become the leading reputable specialized architecture magazine in Vietnam, with a position in the region and the world.

 

Sharing at the program, Dr. Arch. Phan Dang Son, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Architects, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Architecture Magazine, conveyed congratulations and expectations: "I hope that the development of the magazine will continue to improve with the professional dedication and contributions from experts. This is also an indirect contribution to the architectural development of Vietnam and contributes to shaping the leadership direction of the Party, the State, and agencies in the field of architecture. From there, the national architecture can develop and reflect the modern Vietnamese identity, aiming for better integration with the world."

 

The Architecture Magazine awards the title of Golden Pen 2023 to contributing authors

 

According to the annual tradition, the Architecture Magazine also honored the "Golden Pen 2023" awards to contributing freelance writers who have made positive contributions, with outstanding articles of high quality, to contribute to the magazine's growing strength.

 

Representing the honored freelance writers, Dr. Arch. Doan Minh Khoi shared: "This is the honor of an architect recognized for research contributions through written pages. I have always highly appreciated the Architecture Magazine in terms of professionalism, as it is a very important document for generations of architects. Since the internet was not 'widely available' until now, it has always been a traditional and high-quality magazine."

In the warm atmosphere of the spring meeting, members of the Scientific Council as well as participating experts and freelance writers discussed and shared to overcome existing challenges and difficulties for the Architecture Magazine to continue to develop.

 

Acknowledging valuable contributions, the leadership of the Architecture Magazine also expressed gratitude and hoped that in the new year, they would jointly spread the spirit of creativity with connections and cooperation towards success.
