On February 26, the DTU College of Medicine and Pharmacy held a ceremony to commemorate the 69th anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 - February 27, 2024). This occasion served as an opportunity for the staff and faculty of the school to reflect on the noble traditions of the healthcare sector and to honor the contributions and dedication of the healthcare and medical science faculty members in education and community health care.

The commemoration included many meaningful activities. At the ceremony, CMP Vice – Dean Dr. Duong Thi Thuan read Uncle Ho’s letter of February 27 to healthcare professionals, reminding them of the values and importance of the medical profession in society. The letter was first published in the Nhan Dan newspaper on February 27, 1955. It is brief and concise but fully conveys three points of importance to the healthcare sector: honesty and unity, care for patients, and healthcare development for the nation. After 69 years, these three points are still valid, and Uncle Ho’s teachings remain a guiding compass for the development and growth of the domestic healthcare sector.

The ceremony for Vietnamese Doctors’ Day also served as an occasion for the College of Medicine & Pharmacy to honor the contributions and dedication of its staff and lecturers in the health sciences to training and community healthcare. Their relentless efforts have contributed to the development of a foundation for healthcare that meets the needs of the people. As part of the event, Faculty of Medicine Vice Dean Assoc.Prof. Tran Thanh Viet was appointed Vice Director of the CMP International Medical Training Center. This is an achievement to be proud of and which demonstrates the importance and prestige of the College of Medicine & Pharmacy in high-quality and international-standard medical training.
A group of College of Medicine & Pharmacy staff and lecturers visited various hospitals in Danang to personally congratulate the medical personnel there for Vietnamese Doctors’ Day. This shows the respect and gratitude the staff and lecturers at the College feel for the doctors and other healthcare workers who work for and contribute to healthcare development and community health.
At each of the hospitals they visited, the staff and lecturers from the College of Medicine & Pharmacy extended their congratulations and encouragement to the doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers for this traditional day of Vietnamese doctors. This furthermore gave them an opportunity to meet, exchange, and share experiences with the medical personnel there. It was a valuable opportunity to discuss achievements, challenges, and development opportunities in healthcare, and it created a cooperative and supportive environment between the university and the hospitals aimed towards the common goal of improving healthcare and medical training.
On the occasion of the 70th installment of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day, let us recognize and appreciate the efforts and contributions doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers make to care for our health and save our lives. Let us deal out congratulations, encouragement, and gratitude to them, for their work is more than just a profession; it is a noble mission to protect and save every citizen.
