On January 9th, DTU held a ceremony to celebrate the 74th anniversary of Vietnamese Students’ Day, and presented awards to students, teams and faculties for outstanding achievements in social activities and for work in the Student Union and Student Association in 2023-2024, including:
- Two teams honored with the national level with ‘Student of Five Merits’ awards
- Two students awarded ‘Student of Five Merits’ titles at the Central level.
- One national-level ‘January Star Award’.
DTU awards to students, teams and faculties for outstanding achievements in social activities
DTU students succeeded in both academic and sports contests in 2023.
Academically:
- A first prize and the Champions’ Cup, and a third prize went to DTU at the 2023 IDEERS Asia-Pacific contest in Taiwan, in September 2023
- DTU came second in the expert general group at the 2023 ASEAN Cyber Shield Information Security contest in Jakarta, Indonesia.
- DTU won first prize at the 2023 VietFuture Future Innovation Award contest organized by VINASA, with a paper entitled ‘Using rice husks and nylon to produce construction materials’.
In sports:
- Nguyen Huu Kim Son won a gold medal in the men’s swimming 4 × 200 m freestyle relay and a silver in the men’s 1500 m freestyle at the SEA GAMES 32. In addition, Kim Son also won another three gold and two bronze medals at the 2023 National Swimming & Diving Championships
- Le Thi Nhi won a gold in kickboxing in the women’s 50 kg event at the SEA GAMES 32
- Nguyen Pham Hoai Yen won a gold in the women’s pole vault, with a jump of 3.80 m at the 2023 National Athletics Championship in October 2023.
- The DTU women’s team came second at the 2023 Vietnam National Student Volleyball Tournament
- The DTU men’s futsal team won a prestigious national Champions’ Cup at the 9th VUG Futsal Championship
The Secretariat of the Danang Youth Union Student Association also awarded the DTU Youth Union and Student Association with an Emulation Flag for their outstanding contributions to the student movement in 2023-2024.
The history and traditions of Vietnamese students were reviewed and leading students were honored and rewarded for their exemplary performance in their studies and community volunteer work.
Bus tickets presented to disadvantaged students for Tet
DTU also awarded scholarships worth 5 billion VND to the top students and groups who won national, international or excellent awards in 2022-2023.
