The Ninth International Conference on Next Generation Computing - ICNGC 2023 Opening Ceremony

On December 21, the DTU School of Computer Science, the Korean Institute of Next Generation Computing and the Advanced Technology Reach Center jointly held the opening ceremony of the 9th International Conference on Next Generation Computing - ICNGC 2023.The conference took place from December 20 to 23, with participants from 19 countries, including the United States, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, and lecturers and students from DTU and Sejong and Inha universities in South Korea.
 
Attendees included Professor Byeong-Seok Shin from Inha University in South Korea, ICNGC General Chairman; Professor Lee Sang-Ung from Inha University in South Korea, ICNGC Senior Vice-president; Professor Mo Chul Min, DTU Vice-Provost and Rector of the DTU Hospitality School; and Associate Professor. Nguyen Gia Nhu, Rector of DTU School of Computer Science.

Professor Byeong-Seok Shin delivers the opening speech 
 
Professor Byeong-Seok Shin said: “It is a great honor for me to attend the opening ceremony of the 9thInternational Conference on Next Generation Computing. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the sponsors of this Conference and I appreciate their contributions to the organizing committee, especially bythe  DTU Board of Provosts and the DTU School of Computer Science. The conference was first held in 2016 and provides researchers, academicians and industry experts to share their knowledge, find outabout the latest developments in the field of Next Generation Computing, and, at the same time, promote cooperation and scientific research in this field.”

Conference participants  
 
The organizing committee selected 80 papers out of 150 submitted to the conference, and 9 of them were awarded Best Paper prizes at the opening ceremony. The agenda included topics such as: Big data; Information Security;Data Analysis; Image Analysis; Computer Vision, AI applications in Medical care; AI convergence applications; and Next generation computing applications. 
 
Keynote speakers were Dr. Anand Nayyar from DTU, with a paper entitled:"Autonomous Vehicles: Future Driven Smart Transportation System", and ProfessorSang Youn Kim, from the Korea University of Technical Education, with apaper entitled:"Haptic Technology for Immersive Metaverse".
 
Professor Mo Chul Min said: “This9thInternational Conference highlights the academic partnership between DTU and the Korean Institute, the Advanced Technology Research Center, and Sejong and Inha universities. It facilitates an exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of next-generation computing, forresearchers, scholars and technology professionals. We hope that the conference will enable futureopportunities for cooperation in research and development between DTU, Sejong University and Inha University.”
