Needy DTU Students Receive Vietnam Logistics Human Resources Development Association Scholarships

On November 26, at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Transportation, twenty underprivileged students who have overcome their difficulties and progressed to achieve excellent academic performance, were awarded scholarships by the Vietnam Logistics Manpower Development Association (VALOMA), including Vo Thi HoaiThuong, a Duy Tan University senior.
 
Overcoming difficulties to achieve excellent academic results 
 
Vo Thi Hoai Thuong comes from Quang Tri province. Her mother became the family breadwinner when her father was disabled in an accident. Despite their difficulties, Hoai Thuong’s parents always wanted their children to study hard to improve their lives.

With perseverance and determination, Hoai Thuong has become one of the leading Logistics & Supply Chain Management students at Duy Tan University, enrolling with a GPA of 3.96, with many other impressive accomplishments. Hoai Thuong has proved that nothing is impossible, that every effort is rewarded, and VALOMA awarded her a scholarship for needy students, worth 5 million VND.
 
"I feel very honored and grateful to be one of the two students in the Central region to receive a VALOMA scholarship, which encourages me to achieve even more. It confirms my belief that my hard work will always be recognized and I must try to be worthy of that," said Hoai Thuong.

Choose a business oriented major to expand career opportunities  
 
Choosing Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Vo Thi Hoai Thuong clearly confirmed her career plan, knowing that graduates in her major are in great demand in the marketplace in the Technology 4.0 era. Effective management in the transportation, storage and distribution of goods has become critical for corporate survival.

Vo Thi Hoai Thuong said: "The main role of logistics in supply chain management is primarily to increase the overall value of each delivery, which is measured by customer satisfaction. Logistics and supply chain workers are vital to the smooth running of the retail sector and, by optimizing the transportation and resource management processes, costs are minimized significantly by improved efficiency.” 
 
“I realized that Logistics and Supply Chain Management is a growing field, with increasing demand for professionals who can effectively manage the flow of goods and materials, a career that can be challenging but highly rewarding, but opening up broader opportunities for my teammates and me.In addition to the high quality of education at Duy Tan University, the dynamic study environment inspires and motivates us.",
 
Vo Thi Hoai Thuong has planned her goals well, and dreams of becoming an expert in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. She says: "Logistics and Supply Chain Management is all about coordination and communication, is fast-paced and constantly changing. There are two important things that I always adhere to when studying: to concentrate on classwork, and to find like-minded friends who share my aspirations. Luckily, I have found someone at Duy Tan University who has the same will and determination in studying as me. Having friends to study with and meet deadlines together with enables us to support and motivate each other as we aspire to self-improvement and successful results."
