Recent international rankings reflect on DTU’s efforts to increase or maintain its current levels. In 2023, DTU will continue to be ranked in the world’s 401-500 range, according to THE Rankings.
Meanwhile, in 2023, U.S. News & World Report ranks DTU at 317 internationally, and the QS World University Rankings puts DTU in the 801-1000 range, along with the Vietnam National University in Hanoi and HCMC.
2023 THE rankings of Vietnamese universities
In 2023, out of 1,799 educational institutions worldwide, THE ranks DTU 401-500, one of only two Vietnamese universities ranked that high, with only one of only six universities in Vietnam ranked at all. Among Asian universities only, THE ranks DTU at 91.
Quality Assurance
DTU’s prime objective is to provide internationally accredited education programs and was only the second Vietnamese university to achieve American ABET accreditation in 2019, following the HCMC University of Technology. ABET is recognized as the world’s “gold standard” of Science & Engineering education and DTU is now the university with most ABET-accredited programs in Vietnam:
- Software Technology/ Engineering, in 2021
- Electrical Engineering, in 2020
- Network Engineering, in 2019
- Management Information Systems, in 2019.
Two major programs at the DTU Hospitality & Tourism Institute (HTi), namely International Hospitality Management and International Restaurant Operations Management, are now the first and only ones in Vietnam to be accredited according to the TedQual standards for Tourism education by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Modern campuses for study and practice
DTU is located in the center of Danang, with the finest equipment in Central Vietnam that satisfies all the current lecturers and students. However, with the opening of the brand new 20-story building at 3 Quang Trung, DTU now offers even more spacious classrooms and practice rooms, with the most modern facilities in Central Vietnam, to teach ADP students to gain US degrees, Hospitality majors and advanced IT students, in addition to its four existing campuses.
Creating the best conditions for studying and practicing
Many majors lead to immediate employment on graduation
In late October 2022, the Hoa Binh Construction group awarded a 100 million VND scholarship to Cao Tran Phi Vy from the DTU Faculty of Civil Engineering. She is one of only three students nationwide to receive this scholarship and will work at Hoa Binh for 3 years on graduation, without the need for a probationary period.

The standard of education at DTU is widely recognized by the local business community, which is reflected by the 95% of graduates who find employment within six months. Some special majors benefit from 100% immediate employment, with starting salaries ranging from10 to 15 million VND per month, with regular increases.

At the beginning of each enrollment season, DTU awards thousands of scholarships, which motivate high ranking freshmen with best High School Graduation Exam scores, and those with cum laude or summa cum laude high school transcripts, and national, provincial or city-level prizes.

Leaving their mark with national and international prizes
Over the past few years, DTU has established a tradition of winning major prizes at a variety of prestigious academic and start-up contests, in Vietnam and abroad.
- Nguyen Thi Thanh won the “Women In Business Award” at the 2018 Go Green in the City contest in the US, the 2013 CDIO first prize and cup at Harvard University and MIT, and was part of the winning CDIO Academy Cup team in 2017 in Canada and Japan in 2018
- A prize at the Asia-Pacific IDEERS Championship in 2014 in Taiwan, to design earthquake-resistant buildings
- First prize at the 2017 Vietnam Talent Awards, and a second Prize for Potential Digital Products in the “Made-in-Vietnam” contest with a 3D app for medicine.
Major domestic and international awards won by DTU
Several awards have been received in Architecture and Construction:
- In 2020, four first prizes at the National Architecture Festival
- In 2022, twelve prizes at the National Architecture Festival, one well-rounded award, five first prizes, one second prize and five third prizes
- In 2022, second place in the ASEAN Student Information Security contest and third place at the Insomni’Hack CTF finals in Switzerland
- In 2021, first and third prizes at the Sustainable Energy Initiative contest
- In 2020, first prize at the Medical Academic competition
- In 2020, third prize at the National Startup contest, with the Smart Bed project
- In 2021, first prize at the Youth Drivers for Change Awards for the DTU Medical Volunteer Group for their Online Medical Ecosystem
- In 2021, at the American Graphic Design USA, a cup for a perfume log designed by DTU students
