On December 2nd, DTU signed an MOU with the Japan Medical Association (JMA) to open up opportunities for comprehensive collaboration and full scholarships for DTU Health Sciences students.

After much discussion, the partners agreed to pool their resources to provide the ideal study environment for DTU Health Sciences students and others, to enable them to study and work at hospitals in Vietnam and Japan and contribute to the improved health of people from both two countries.
The Japan Medical Association will provide:
- Full scholarships for DTU Health Sciences students to participate in 3-month training courses in Japan
- Employment at medical facilities in Japan for at least 3 to 5 years after course completion
- Japanese language training
The signing
Mr. Biyu said: “I thank DTU for arranging this successful signing ceremony. Our association implemented a program for Vietnamese Nursing students 10 years ago, which enabled students to study and work in Japan, at no cost. Yesterday I went to the Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, where we had already signed a similar agreement 6 years ago. One of the Vietnamese nurses who now work in Japan, for example, has already bought a house, a car, married and has a steady life there. The Japan Medical Association has 27 member hospitals and today’s MOA will expand our cooperation opportunities even more. I would also like cooperate on technology, to allow qualified engineers to work in Japan.”
The collaboration between DTU and the Japan International Medical Association is a milestone, initiating a bilateral relationship, providing Health Sciences students the chance to experience the advanced study and working environment in Japan. It will also broaden international exchange at DTU and improve the quality of Vietnam's healthcare in the near future.
