On October 10, Stanford University released an update of the list that represents the top 2% of the most-cited university researchers, in such diverse fields such as Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Medicine, Architecture and Mechanical Engineering, from 22 fields and 176 subfields. There were 116 Vietnamese academics, 10 of those were from Duy Tan University.
Dr. Tran Nguyen Hai, ranked 13,713, in Environmental Studies
Fourteen researchers from Duy Tan University were featured in the List of the world’s 100,000 Most Influential Scientists 2022.
The highest ranked scientists from DTU were:
- Dr. Shariati, Mahdi, at 2,861, in Civil Engineering
- Dr. Tran Nguyen Hai, at 13,713, in Environmental Engineering
- Dr. Hoang Nhat Duc, at 15,072, in Civil Engineering
- Dr. Anand Nayyar Anand, at 18,310, in Computer Science
- Associate Professor Nguyen Dang Nam, at 18,363, in Materials Science
Dr. Tran Nguyen Hai was honored by Elsevier in the Netherlands for his contribution to reviews in five of their journals. Dr. Nayyar has been included in the rankings from 2020 to 2022, up this year from 40,484 to 18,310 and now ranked second in Vietnam in Computer Science.
Professor Nguyen Dinh Duc and Associate Professor Le Hoang Son, from the Vietnam National University in Hanoi, were listed in the World’s 10,000 Most Influential Scientists of 2022. Of the 35 Vietnamese scientists appeared in the World’s Top 100,000 by research achievements from 1960 to 2022, three were from Duy Tan University: Associate Professor Nguyen Dang Nam, at 18,363; Dr. Hoang Nhat Duc, at 15,072, and Dr. Tran Nguyen Hai, at 13,713.
The top 2% rankings are prepared by the Metrics team at Stanford University and the Elsevier Publishing and SciTech Strategies group. They selected the top 100,000 scientists out of seven million, in 22 fields and 176 sub-fields, using Scopus citation data from papers published from 1960 until September 2022.
They evaluate the entire scientific output of researchers according to a bibliometric index, including criteria such as the Hirsch index, the number of citations and position in the list of authors. Percentiles are included for scientists with at least five published papers.
