With one of the highest numbers of students pursuing hospitality in Central Vietnam, DTU continues to actively hunt for new directions to guarantee Central Vietnam and the rest of the country human resources of the highest quality in both knowledge and skills. Most recently, DTU invited and obtained UNWTO.TedQual accreditation for two programs:

? International Hotel Management (PSU standard), and
? International Restaurant Operations Management (PSU standard).

Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Hong Kong PolyU), the world’s number one university in tourism & hospitality in many rankings, chose UNWTO.TedQual to accredit its training programs. In the three years of preparation for the accreditation, DTU received direct guidance and advice from Hong Kong PolyU, and on July 8, the UNWTO officially accredited the DTU programs in International Hospitality Management and in International Restaurant Operations Management with the rather high score of 771/845 points, meeting up to 91,2% of the criteria.

Interestingly, the two DTU programs of hospitality received accreditation with validity of 3 years, which is better than Hong Kong PolyU’s first UNWTO.TedQual accreditation with validity of just 2 years.

DTU signed an agreement with Pennsylvania State University (one of the world’s five best universities in tourism) to receive their Advanced & High Quality programs of tourism

The programs that received UNWTO.TedQual accreditation were built on collaboration with Pennsylvania State University (PSU), one of the fifty leading universities in economics & business administration training of the US (according to U.S. News 2022) and one of the world’s five best universities in tourism training (according to the UNWTO) to obtain training programs in Hotel Management, Tourism Management, and Restaurant Operations Management.

Students of the DTU’s PSU-standard Advanced & High Quality programs receive from 19 to 21 course completion certificates awarded by Pennsylvania State University, US. These certificates are recognized by universities in the US (in case students want to complete their studies or pursue a higher degree in the US).

Besides US-standard training programs, DTU students of tourism study with Problem-Based Learning (PBL) or Project-Based Learning (PrBL). This method is learner-centered and classes are geared towards actively working on projects, in order to improve lecturing and increase lecturing efficiency, and to allow for parallel learning.

The complete hospitality ecosystem at the DTU’s HTi

The DTU Hospitality & Tourism Institute (HTi) created a complete and diverse ecosystem for its hospitality minors: a series of five-star hotel rooms to practice in, a conference center, the UTravel travel company, a buffet restaurant, a cafe, etc. In this environment, DTU students always have opportunities to practice and improve their profession, to confidently and rapidly find employment in the real world.
