The "Shared Garden" project created by the B.A. team of DTU Business Administration students, was awarded a Consolation prize at the 2021 Innovative Startup Ideas contest entitled "Light Up Your Creativity”

Sixty innovative start-up projects in various fields were submitted, including topics involving production, business, services, agriculture, environmental protection and solutions for climate change in the new normal, with ten of them advancing to the finals on December 11, when finalists presented their projects and answered questions from the jury.

The “Shared Garden” rooftop agriculture project promotes a miniature farm to potential business clients. Currently, there are more and more foods of unknown origin and poor quality on sale. Rooftop gardens have been privately created in many other countries, and are highly beneficial to community health, so the B.A. team decided to implement a project in Vietnam, which took them 3 months to complete.

Tran Thi Thanh Hoa said: “We are economics students and initially encountered several problems because we did not fully understand the latest agricultural techniques. We conducted an online survey during the pandemic and, with the support from our faculty, the DTU Youth Union and the DTU Startup Center, we accomplished our objectives. I was happy and fortunate to participate in this contest, which helped us all broaden our experience and skills.”
The "Shared Garden" product provides a wide range of services, ranging from design consultancy, technical support and customer care, to harvesting and product commercialization. Customers choose different service packages depending on their family needs and the community can share their expertise to expand their own rooftop gardens.
