On April 27, DTU held a Youth Science and Technology conference for medical and pharmacy students. Dr. Vo Thanh Hai, DTU Vice-Provost; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh, DTU Vice-Provost and Dean of DTU School of Medicine and Pharmacy; lecturers, staff and students attended.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh said: “In addition to expanding international cooperation, improving the quality of education and applying advanced teaching methods, the DTU School of Medicine and Pharmacy also pays special attention to promoting research. Today’s conference is for DTU Medical and Pharmaceutical lecturers and students to present their latest recent research findings in preparation for the XX National Youth Science and Technology Conference for Medical and Pharmaceutical Universities and Colleges, to be held from May 13 to15.”
Attendees
The objective of the Youth Science and Technology conference was to encourage researchers at medical and pharmacy institutes, hospitals and universities nationwide to conduct more research projects and share their experience, new methodologies and findings.
Five of the most impressive research papers were presented at the conference:
- “Awareness, attitudes and practices concerning child-violence in Vietnam”
- “In vitro and in silico isolation, and the genetic toxicity screening of xanthan compounds extracted from the colloidal Lisotrigona furva”
- “Access to reproductive health services for workers in Vietnamese industrial parks”
- “The misuse of non-prescription medication by farmers in the Moc Chau mountains”
- “Research into the co-culture technique of genetically recombinant Escherichia coli bacteria to synthesize glycoside flavonoid compounds”
And two papers in English:
- “The risk of Restless Leg Syndrome in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: a nationwide population-based retrospective group study”,
- “The prevalence and characteristics of dyslipidemia in patients with acute coronary syndrome, at the Tay Nguyen General Hospital”
DTU also plans to present some of its own research projects, including the 3D Virtual Reality Healthcare Study & Research application and the dtu-VENT version 3.0 ventilator at the XX National Youth Science and Technology Conference for Medical and Pharmaceutical Universities and Colleges.
