DTU Signs Important Agreement with Hue University

On March 24, DTU and Hue University signed a comprehensive collaboration agreement in order to improve the standard of education and boost the economic development of Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands.
Collaboration for joint sustainable development
This partnership is a milestone for a long-lasting relationship between the two Central Vietnam universities. Hue University was founded in 1957 and is considered one of the five largest in the country and second in student population, after the national university network. The university now has nine faculties in three schools, the School of Physical Education, the International School and the School of Engineering & Technology. Hue University also has a branch in Quang Tri province, several training and research centers and institutes and a publishing house. The university offers an education in diverse fields, such as pedagogy, medicine, pharmacy, arts, agriculture-forestry-fishing, foreign languages, economics, law, hospitality, social sciences & humanities, natural sciences, and technology & engineering.
While Hue University is the first and is the oldest public university in Central Vietnam, DTU is the first and biggest private university. Founded in 1994, more recent than Hue University, DTU has made major achievements recognized by the community, together with successive emulation flags, from the Ministry of Education & Training from 2010 to 2019 and from the government from 2013 to 2019. DTU is currently ranked on the list of the 400 top universities in Asia.

“Prior to our agreement, we met on several occasions,” explained Associate Professor Nguyen Quang Linh, Chairman of the University Council and Hue University President. “We believe that universities, old and young, have much to learn from each another. Traditional and modern education must be linked, with both experienced and younger lecturers constantly innovating to improve education effectiveness. Hue University and DTU have been working together for a long time in research, at conferences, in workshops and lecturer development. Today is the beginning of a deeper and wider partnership based on our individual strengths.”

"We are still lacking in human resources in the Central region compared with the North and South but still have a huge potential to contribute to national economic development,” said DTU Provost Dr. Le Nguyen Bao. “I believe that today, by combining Hue University’s experience and DTU’s youthful energy, our collaboration will now develop steadily, especially through unique joint applied research startup projects with strong commercial potential.”
