On March 20, DTU and Gear Inc. held the Mobile Games 2011 “Gear Inc.-Your Career Fit” internship program. Associate Professor Nguyen Gia Nhu, Principal of the DTU School of Computer Sciences, Mr. Bui Huu Loc, Technical Director of Gear Inc., IT students and Danang game lovers attended.
Gear Inc. was founded in 2006 and is a global software specialist in Game Development, Quality Assurance, and Image & Content Moderation, based in Silicon Valley, with offices in Hanoi, Danang, Cebu in the Philippines, Kolkata in India, Bangkok in Thailand and Bali in Indonesia. With the increasing demand for software outsourcing, Southeast Asia has become a leading supplier and Vietnam is now recognized as the most cost-effective country.

Mr. Bui Huu Loc, Technical Director of Gear Inc., said: “DTU is a potential partner, as it is one of the strongest universities in IT in the Central Region. Today, we are here to identify and test students who are familiar with game development, to possibly intern at Gear Inc. We hope to partner with DTU to provide the specialized training that satisfies the needs of the workplace.”

Gear Inc. invited students who pass the test to an interview. Those accepted will undergo six-months of paid training at Gear Inc. and the best trainees will be hired as full-time employees. Gear Inc. representatives answered questions about English language requirements, the programming languages used in gaming and the necessary creative skills.
Truong Quoc Thinh, a senior Software Engineering student, said: “I am in my final year and I am looking for internship opportunities in jobs that match my interests and qualifications. Today, I was able to meet directly with Gear Inc. and become familiar with their requirements. I will now apply for a job there and hope that they accept me. "
