Quacquarelli Symonds, a renowned UK-based education organization, announced its 2021 list of the leading universities in Asia. Eleven Vietnamese universities appear in the 2021 QS Asia University Rankings: the National University in Ho Chi Minh city, the National University in Hanoi, Ton Duc Thang University, the Hanoi University of Science & Technology, Duy Tan University, Hue University, the University of Danang, Can Tho University, the Hanoi National University of Education, the Industrial University in Ho Chi Minh city and the University of Economics in Ho Chi Minh city. Of the eleven universities in this year’s list, Duy Tan University climbed 100 places to enter Top 351-400 and rank fifth in Vietnam.

Dr. Le Nguyen Bao, DTU Provost
On November 17, Dr. Le Nguyen Bao, DTU Provost, met with K26 students to offer some advice on how to succeed at university, by broadening their background knowledge and skills. He advised: “You should identify what motivates you in life and the personal objectives that meet the needs of you and your family. Choose an appropriate university and major and strive to develop a worthwhile ambition. Dare to think and dare to do. Don’t be afraid of failure. Overcome your fears and move forward to achieve your goals! ”
The 2020 Exemplary Young Teacher Award
On November 11, Mr. Le Anh Tuan, a Ph.D. student and DTU lecturer, was awarded the title of “2020 Exemplary Young Teacher” by the Danang Youth Union and the Danang Department of Education and Training, for his contributions to the DTU Youth Union Movement, his research publications in prestigious journals and co-authorship of several textbooks. During his 10 years of teaching, he has always dedicated himself to the education of his students and is loved by many. He has published papers in Scopus indexed international journals, and others recognized by the Vietnamese State Council for Professorships. He is the author and co-author of textbooks, including a Summary of Accounting Theory & Exercises of Accounting Principles 2 and Accounting Principles and Management Accounting for Businesses.

A First prize in the Essay-writing contest for Medical students
Surpassing 226 other contestants from medical schools all over the country in the Essay-Writing contest for medical students, Do The Bon, a DTU General Practitioner student, won first prize with his essay on “Medical Students Respond to Medical Challenges in the 21st Century”. A second prize went to a student from the University of Medicine & Pharmacy in HCMC; three third prizes were awarded to students from the Hue University of Medicine & Pharmacy, the Thai Binh University of Medicine & Pharmacy, and the Thai Nguyen University of Medicine & Pharmacy.

People’s Choice Award at the K-pop Festival
Two K26 students from the DTU Faculty of Korean Language, Dinh Gia Han and Nguyen Trong Phung, won the People’s Choice Prize in the 2020 K-pop Cover Video Contest launched by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Danang. Their beautiful song entitled “This Love”, from the “Descendants of the Sun” soundtrack, received 500 likes from viewers, 300 shares and many positive comments from the online community.

An Agreement with Danang International Airport
On October 22, DTU signed an agreement with the Danang International Airport (DIA) to allow students to broaden their knowledge, skills and career prospects. Danang International Airport is now the third busiest in Vietnam. It serves 32 airlines, transporting 15.5 million passengers a year to 40 locations worldwide. DTU and DIA will work together to implement effective human resource training, research programs, publications in international journals, foreign language improvement, recruitment information and job opportunities.

Agribank awards gifts to K26 DTU students
On December 2nd, the Ong Ich Khiem branch of the Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development awarded thirteen Dynamic Student prizes, as part of the “Agribank Stands by the 2020 DTU Freshmen” program, which was implemented to thank students for maintaining their trust by choosing Agribank services today and in years to come.

Agribank offered one hundred Dynamic Student prizes to freshmen all over Vietnam, with no less than 13 winners at DTU this year! The prize was a set of Samsung Galaxy Buds+, with Bluetooth, worth 4.4 million VND each.
