On December 10, the closing ceremony of the 12th National Festival for Architecture students, sponsored jointly by the Vietnam Association of Architects (VAA) and the Vietnam Young Architects Club, took place at the Trung Vuong Theatre in Danang, ending on a lively note.
This year’s festival attracted 400 students and 70 lecturers of Architecture from 21 universities nationwide. After three days of competition, the winning individuals and teams were announced on the closing night.
The theme of this year’s festival was “Architecture in the Digital Age.” The festival also included a talk show on “Digital Design”, with architects Nguyen Trong Thuy and Nguyen Xuan Man.
Outstanding individuals and teams are awarded valuable prizes
First prize went to the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology & Education for their Sand Sculpture entry, perfectly blending unique images of Danang with stylized elements. All the winning teams creatively focused on the theme “Architecture in the Digital Age”.

“Whatever the approach, the teams all demonstrated a deep love of their homeland and an ability and thirst, stemming from the spirit of architecture students,” stated Architect Nguyen Thu Phong, VAA Vice-Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the 2020 National Festival for Architecture Students.

Architect Nguyen Thu Phong added: “From a broader viewpoint, despite the difficulties, we are always reassured by the spirit of the architecture students. The tenth festival is honored to host you all and we are confident that your contributions will be even more innovative and creative at future festivals.”
