The Opening Ceremony of the twelfth biennial National Architecture Student Festival took place at DTU on December 8, attended by lecturers and students from 21 universities and colleges nationwide. The theme of this year’s festival was “Architecture in the Digital Age.”

The event was organized by the Vietnam Association of Architects (VAA) in collaboration with local authorities and universities, with the objective of bringing lecturers and students together to discuss architecture, construction and strategic planning topics.
Speaking at ceremony, VAA Chairman Dr. Arch. Phan Dang Son explained: “The National Architecture Student Festival is an interesting venue where young people can interact with each other. Today, the best students in Vietnam are here to present their ideas and broaden their knowledge through creativity and sharing. Representatives from 21 universities around the country will be able to convey their passion, enthusiasm and in-depth knowledge to compete in the design of buildings that strictly conform with the 4.0 motto ‘Architecture in the Digital era’. While networking with each other, the participants are able to compete in a series of small contests to nurture their creativity, their ability to work in teams or independently, their presentation skills and experience real-world applications.”
70 lecturers and 400 students from 21 universities and colleges nationwide attended the 2020 Festival. The event was also intended to promote Danang as a young, vibrant and hospitable city.
The festival also included a “Parametric Shaping” contest on the topic of “Waves”; Quick Design A, themed “A friendly space along the river”; Quick Design B, themed “Cities for everyone”; Art drawing, themed “The city along the river”; Photography, themed “Danang, the city and people” and Sand Sculpture Contest, themed: “City of mountains, river and sea.”
The festival also included a talk show on “Digital Design”, with architects Nguyen Trong Thuy and Nguyen Xuan Man.
