On December 8, the Opening Ceremony of the twelfth biennial National Architecture Student Festival began with a series of exchange activities and competitions for Architecture lecturers and students, attended by 70 lecturers and 400 students from 21 universities and colleges nationwide.
The National Architecture Student Festival was organized by the Vietnam Association of Architects (VAA) in collaboration with local authorities and universities, with the objective of bringing lecturers and students together to discuss architecture, construction and strategic planning topics. The 2020 Festival was also intended to promote Danang as a young, vibrant and hospitable city.

Speaking at ceremony, VAA Chairman Dr. Arch. Phan Dang Son explained that Danang, along with Ho Chi Minh city, is one of the youngest cities in the country, with a dynamic, open-minded, enterprising way of life and innovative, avant-garde, creative architecture.
“The National Architecture Student Festival is an interesting venue where young people can interact with each other,” said Chairman Dr. Arch. Phan Dang Son. “Architecture is an art that’s different from the rest. It combines both artistic and technical elements. Today, the best students in Vietnam are here to present their ideas and broaden their knowledge through creativity and sharing. Representatives from 21 universities around the country will be able to convey their passion, enthusiasm and in-depth knowledge to compete in the design of buildings that strictly conform with the 4.0 motto ‘Architecture in the Digital era’. While networking with each other, the participants are able to compete in a series of small contests to nurture their creativity, their ability to work in teams or independently, their presentation skills and experience real-world applications.”
