On October 11th, the DTU Faculty of Korean Language held a welcoming ceremony for freshmen, to get to know each other and acclimatize to their new surroundings. To motivate them, the Faculty presented them with notebooks to keep track of new Korean words and phrases.

The Dean of the Korean Language Faculty, Dr. Le Thi Ngoc Cam, overviewed the training program for the students, including Korean translation and interpretation and Korean for tourism. They will learn basic Korean during their first five semesters, in preparation for more in-depth training in their sixth. Meanwhile, they will have access to career orientation sessions, and internship, overseas study and job opportunities.
The Faculty also hosts clubs and other extra-curricular activities for students to learn the language outside of the normal classroom setting. Some students join the Korean club, while others enjoy the K-POP, English and Taekwondo clubs.

The students were delighted to write their dreams and expectations down on a piece of paper, including study, love and success aspirations and hung them on a "Kum namu - Dream Tree" at the Faculty entrance.
During the meeting, the Korean language freshmen gained a deeper understanding of the DTU tradition and activities, ending with lecturers and students in beautiful Hanbok dresses posing for photos, marking an unforgettable start to their studies.
