Ms. Bui Thi Xuan Nuong, a student of the Cao Ba Quat High School, scored high in the 2020 High School Graduation Exam, making her family happier than ever. In the 2020 HSGE, she scored 9.2 in Math and was one of the students achieving the highest grade in Literature, at 9.25.

With a total average score of 26.2, she enrolled in the advanced PSU International Business Administration program, receiving a full scholarship. Pennsylvania State University is one of the top fifty universities in Economics and Business Administration education in the US.
Studying hard for a brighter future
Bui Thi Xuan Nuong was born into a three-sister family, her parents have to work hard to support their children, so she always studies hard. She said: “My parents have a variety of jobs to earn a living. My father is a farmer, construction worker and a fish culturist and my mother has a small grocery store. Despite their hard work, they only just about make ends meet to raise my sisters and me. I always remind myself that I must overcome every challenge and study diligently, so was very fortunate to gain a high score in the HSGE.”
Bui Thi Xuan Nuong has a strong passion for Mathematics and Literature. Since she couldn’t afford to take part in extra courses, she always listens attentively to her teachers and researches additional information in books, newspapers and online.
Sharing her secret to success, she said: “All subjects are interesting, which inspires me to research independently. Math deepens my logical thinking and Literature gives me a better understanding of life and people. During the learning process, I always systematically try to thoroughly remember what I have studied. Online classes on YouTube and social media are some of the best ways to expand my knowledge.
I always do my homework carefully and plan a reasonable schedule for study and entertainment, without putting too much pressure on myself. I have put lots of effort into my studies, but would have been unable to achieve such high scores without the enthusiastic support of my teachers.”
Choosing DTU to realize her dream of becoming a businesswoman
Since childhood, Xuan Nuong loved numbers, so, when she grew up, she became more interested in her mother’s business. She said: “I became enthralled with business when I helped my mother sell grocery items. This job requires quick mathematical calculation skills, good customer communication and a dynamic personality. I gradually became interested in starting my own business in the future, to become a successful businesswoman and take care of my family. I asked my parents for advice and researched information on DTU’s PSU International-Standard major in Business Administration online. After that, I set my goals high, decided to enroll at DTU and try for a full scholarship.”

Xuan Nuong said: “I decided to study DTU’s PSU Advanced International major in Business Administration. The program is offered in partnership with Pennsylvania State University, one of the fifty leading universities in Business Administration and Economics in the US. I hope that DTU’s experienced lecturers will help me improve my English, my soft skills and critical thinking. I believe that my dream will now come true, thanks to DTU.”
