Second Live-streamed Broadcast: “The 4.0 Industrial Revolution – Career Opportunities for Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Architecture and Civil Engineering Students”

On February 19, a second live-streamed enrolment consultation broadcast was held, on majors in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Architecture/Interior Design and Civil Engineering, to give parents and prospective students a clearer understanding of enrolment criteria.  This session was hosted by Associate Professor Nguyen The Duong, Dean of Civil Engineering; Dr. Le Vinh An, Dean of Architecture, Mr. Luong Xuan Hieu, Vice-Dean of Architecture, Mr. Tran Thanh Binh, in charge of Graphic Design, Dr. Tran Thuy Binh, in charge of Fashion; and lecturer Ngo Quang Tam from Architecture.

Livestream s? 2: “Ca´ch ma?ng Công nghiê?p 4.0 - Co hô?i viê?c la`m cho Sinh viên Khô´i nga`nh Kiê´n tru´c, Xây du?ng, Thiê´t kê´ Ðô` ho?a & Thiê´t kê´ Tho`i trang”
DTU lecturers and staff at the 2nd live streaming

Potential Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Architecture/Interior Design and Civil Engineering enrollees watched the live stream, then asked questions and voiced their concerns relating to the majors, ably answered by DTU lecturers.

Several Graphic Design enthusiasts who had no drawing skills voiced their concerns. Mr. Tran Thanh Binh replied: “Though it is as important as the other subjects, drawing is not a compulsory requirement, because some people are not gifted artists. Don’t be concerned, we will teach you the required basic drawing and painting skills in the first two years to prepare you for the rest of the course.”

Mr. Luong Xuan Hieu added: “The three DTU Faculty of Architecture admission options are by direct admission, on high school transcript results or on the results of the 2020 National HSGE. Art points are required for admission to Architecture admission but applicants can take a DTU drawing exam July 4 and 5 and use the results for admission to universities nationwide.”

One of the viewers, Tan Nguyen, then asked: “What is BIM, building information modeling and how can it benefit the construction sector?

“BIM is the process of creating and managing information digitally throughout the life-cycle of a construction project.  It is an intelligent 3D model-based process that gives architecture, engineering, and construction professionals a knowledge of ways to more efficiently plan, design, construct and manage buildings and their infrastructure and has been widely adopted in civil engineering education.” explained Mr. Ngo Quang Tam.

Dr. Le Vinh An added: “BIM is based on technology management algorithms and enables engineers to implement their construction projects more efficiently, to optimize resources and workflows for improved productivity and profitability.”

Livestream s? 2: “Ca´ch ma?ng Công nghiê?p 4.0 - Co hô?i viê?c la`m cho Sinh viên Khô´i nga`nh Kiê´n tru´c, Xây du?ng, Thiê´t kê´ Ðô` ho?a & Thiê´t kê´ Tho`i trang”
Dr. Le Vinh An answers questions

Another viewer, Ha Nguyen, wanted to know more about the Real Estate Business Management degree course and career prospects.  Associate Professor Nguyen The Duong explained: “This is one of this year’s new majors. We used to think that the real estate business involved just selling land or houses. This has changed however and the course now includes the teaching of management techniques and complex property insurance, taxation, loan and mortgage procedures.”

Other viewers sent messages to the DTU fan page inbox, asking for more details. The third live-streamed enrollment broadcast will take place on February 22, entitled: “New Admission methods and Majors.”

Be sure to watch it, listen to the DTU lecturers and choose the course that is right for you!
