Cultural exchange with Burapha University

On December 13, the P2A Project Board and the DTU Global Student Exchange department jointly held a cultural exchange program with lecturers and students from Burapha University. This provided an excellent opportunity for DTU students to learn more about the Thai culture and meet their counterparts from another ASEAN country.

Burapha University was founded in 1996 and is one of the largest public universities in Thailand. It is highly regarded for its quality and type of education, for its experienced lecturers and offers fifty Bachelor, Master and PhD degree programs, all taught in English.

Two lecturers and twenty-five students from Burapha University and eighty DTU International School,  Hospitality & Tourism, Foreign Language and Pharmacy students participated in lively musical performances and games, to help them get to know each other.

The two universities took turns to give overviews of their countries and cultures, talking about places to visit, traditional costume and local cuisine.

Mr. Chayanon Chootanon, a lecturer at Burapha University, said: “The meeting helped us learn more about Vietnam, a beautiful country with friendly people. We will not forget the delicious local food, the beautiful Ao Dai dresses and unique festivals. Hopefully, the relationship between DTU and Burapha University will grow stronger and stronger.”

When the meeting ended the students felt that any previous boundaries between them had disappeared. The Passage to ASEAN plays an important role in broadening long-term relationships and career opportunities amongst Southeast Asian universities.
