On October 15, the second Forum of Entities Associated with ASEAN was held at the Secretariat headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia. The forum served as a platform for the entities to explore possible cooperation between ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN sectoral bodies, ASEAN related centres and entities and among the entities themselves in achieving the ASEAN Vision 2025.
ASEAN Secretary General Lim Jock Hoi emphasized: “We all play a vital role in strengthening our ASEAN Community. Entities Associated need to continue your workplans and trust in the fruits from your contributions. All of us here share the wish to bring positive impacts to our fellow ASEAN citizens, and, at the same time, we help them improve their understanding about ASEAN.”
The ASEAN Secretariat’s Community Affairs Director, Lee Yoong Yoong, stated that this was the second time the forum had been held, with the intention of forging a better understanding of the culture, people and economies of each of the ASEAN member countries.
Ms. Le Nguyen Tue Hang, DTU Vice - Provost, noted DTU was one of five co-founders of the “Passage to ASEAN - P2A”, which allows regional students to meet and get to know each other’s cultures.
Every year, the Passage to ASEAN arranges hundreds of exchanges between the 82 universities within the P2A network. Students can explore the culture of the host country and intern in a foreign company . These exchanges help students expand their knowledge and necessary skills to better integrate into the ASEAN community.
Delegates are able to share their experience collaborating with business in and outside ASEAN and review current development and priorities, promoting a broader engagement of entities in realizing the ASEAN Community Vision.
