Huynh Tan of class K20 TPM3, from the Faculty of Information Technology; Lu Thanh Vinh of K20CMU TPM5, from the International School and Nguyen Ngo Anh Quan of K21 EDT1, from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, were invited to the 2018 STEP Aviation Forum, which was a part of the Singapore Airshow 2018, taking place from February 6th to 10th.
Three DTU students at the Singapore Airshow
The Step Aviation Forum was jointly organized by the Singapore Polytechnic and Singapore University of Technology and Design, and sponsored by the Temasek Fund. The Singapore Airshow is Asia's largest, where leading aerospace companies from across the world exhibit their latest equipment to the military and to airlines biannually. DTU was invited because of its success in holding Learning Express meetings and its strong relationship with Singapore Polytechnic over the past few years.
DTU students meet with international students
The airshow gave the DTU students an excellent opportunity to review the latest aviation technology and watch breathtaking aerobatic flying displays, by the JAS-39 C/D Gripen aircraft of the Royal Thai Air Force and the Su-30MKM of the Royal Malaysian Air Force.
When he arrived home, Lu Thanh Vi said: “The 2018 STEP Aviation Forum was remarkable and we were able to meet and talk about aviation with senior corporate executives from many countries. This helped broaden our knowledge and we also made new friends and explored Singapore, a modern, clean and beautiful city”.
