Crowds of filmmakers at DigiCon6
The contest, which originated in Japan for amateur and professional graphic film artists, always draws a great many film-makers every year. The producers and their work are on show to the world and the contest inspires them to create even more high-quality movies for the viewers’ enjoyment and edification.
In the film, the Silver Swallows Studio team worked together to show their audience some things about the Vietnamese people and their culture, with a funny and loveable plot scripted by Nguyen Tan Phat Anh, Le Thi Thanh Thao and Dr. Le Nguyen Bao.
A scene from Typo Master
“Typo Master” is the story of an old, imperial academic, in ancient times, who loves painting, even though it is not his forte. He has an exemplary lifestyle and pretends that he is a master of painting, toiling at his easel. Consequently, everyone expects him to create a masterpiece.
Mr. Vo Huy Giap, the Production Manager of the film said: “It was a great surprise when “Typo Master” won a Silver prize at DigiCon6. The movie is technically strong and is made entirely using 3D technology. This is the first time we’ve tried our hand at animation, so we spent much time developing the scenes and characters. We used the Maya and 3Ds Max software in parallel to design the Ao Dai dress of the leading performer. This film is the first of a series of films we’ll produce in the near future.”
Mr. Dang Ngoc Son, Director of the DTU Silver Swallows Studio, said: “I would like to thank Mr. Vo Huy Giap and Ms. Le Thi Thanh Thao, who laid the foundation for the development of the DTU Silver Swallows Studio. We are also currently producing a documentary on the air war in North Vietnam with 3D technology, which will be on show to the viewers soon.”
