On August 18th and 19th, Duy Tan University held the 2017 DTU Scientific Conference, attended by Hero of Labor and Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost, the Director of the DTU Institute for Research and Development, Professor Vu Xuang Quang, and university researchers, lecturers, associates and staff.
“The 2017 DTU Scientific Conference is quite special, because many accomplished, outstanding scientists come to present their latest research and give their opinions on the research we are currently conducting at our university,” said Professor Quang. “DTU’s achievements demonstrate that wise investment in research stimulates education in general and creates respect for the university in national and internationally. I am sure that our drive to create an ideal environment for future research will continue to attract talented and experienced specialists to work and contribute here.”
The conference enabled large numbers of DTU staff, lecturers and associates to meet and present their most important research over the last five years. Much of the conference was dedicated to discussing with the Board of Trustees and university leadership ways to further increase the reputation of DTU worldwide. Interesting issues were raised, such as how to publish higher-quality ISI papers, boost research activity, develop the skills the lecturers and staff and enhance relationships with other research organizations.

The conference report documented that research at DTU has made impressive advances, in both quantity and quality. In addition, progress has been made in the formation of research teams in Physics, Environmental Chemistry, Mechanics and Construction, Molecular Biology and Advanced Chemistry, building a strong foundation for future projects.
DTU will continue to gain accreditation from worldwide bodies, such as ABET, ACBSP, and ACPHA. Its current goal is to enter the list of the Time Higher Education top 300 Asian universities by the year 2022. As DTU gradually rises to meet those educational standards, together with its staff, international partnerships and so on, research activities will broaden and lead to further development and success.
