Mr. Philip Cao Hung discusses IT with students

Since its inception, DTU has determined IT to be a key major. To enhance the quality of IT education, DTU partners with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), one of the top four American IT universities, to offer advanced international programs. DTU is also working with several domestic and international companies to conduct special IT projects and organize multinational IT competitions and conferences.

Recently, technology fraud has become more sophisticated, causing wide-scale damage and heavy socioeconomic losses worldwide. Security specialists report that the risk of information security violations in Vietnam is very high, with fifty percent of personal computers exposed to hacking and malware. By partnering with Palo Alto Networks, DTU will offer training programs to broaden the perspective of DTU lecturers and develop a state-of-the-art cyber lab system at DTU.

Founded in 2005, the Palo Alto Networks Company is a supplier of Network Security products. Its head office is located in California, with branches in fifty countries and 5,300 customers. The company has conducted many Information Security training programs in Asia, including Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam.

Representatives of Palo Alto Networks also talked about career opportunities in Information Security and gave examples of targeted computer hacking worldwide and stressing the importance of strong Information Security in our daily lives.

Mr. Philip Cao Hung said “Studying IT in general and Information Security in particular is the best path for you to follow. Once you are well-equipped with IT skills, you will be able to find expert, well-paid jobs in lOT Software, ISC/SCADA Network Security and Cloud Security.”

Students must study hard to achieve this, conduct their own research and broaden their practical experience. Soft skills, professional skills and English ability are key success factors.

Huynh Thanh Quang, of class K20TMT CMU, said: “After listening to Mr. Hung’s remarks, I feel more confident. I hope DTU continues to arrange more meetings like this so that we can learn more and broaden our skills.”
