Seventy Master’s degree graduates from universities nationwide attended the second DTU International Summer School, from August 21st to 24th. The event was sponsored by the British Council of Vietnam, to assist Vietnamese students to learn how to apply for scholarships to study in developed countries, for PhD degrees in Electronics and Communications and Information Technology. The success of the first camp inspired the organizers to continue to create more opportunities for young Vietnamese researchers.
Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co
In his opening remarks, Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co said: “Young researchers today have many advantages that we didn’t have, having access to the latest information and meeting foreign researchers personally. The standards of education, research, creativity and morality have risen in universities nationwide. DTU will continue to create the best conditions for young researchers to conduct their projects to make further contributions to the country’s scientific progress.”

Experts explained how to search for scholarships, the advanced research skills required to look up and cite references, how to avoid plagiarism, how to write scientifically, how to present at conferences, the structure of an ISI-standard paper and how to use software in research and calculations. They also provided guidance on how to research application procedures for PhD candidates in developed countries and how to apply.
Dr. Duong Quang Trung, from Queen’s University in Belfast, Northern Ireland, said: “It really enjoyed completing my PhD program overseas. I had the opportunity to meet well-known researchers in my major, work in ideal study environments and learn all about advanced research procedures. I hope you all make concentrated efforts to explore the world and learn much more in the near future.”
