DTU grants a large number of scholarships annually to attract high achievers and also to lessen tuition fees for applicants with financial difficulties.

In 2016-2017, DTU is offering:
Fifty partial and full scholarships worth 800 million vnd to students enrolling in the On-Site Study-Abroad program, in partnership with Upper Iowa University in the USA. These scholarships will be granted to:
* Applicants who win a First, Second or Third prize in the National Skilled Student Selection contests or at Science and Technology competitions, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, in addition to an English level B certificate or the equivalent.
* Applicants with a minimum High Graduation Examination score of 22 points for three subjects, together with an English score of at least 7 or an IELTS score of 5.0 and above or an English level B certificate.
* Applicants with the minimum High Graduation Examination score in three subjects and an English score of at least 5 will be granted 50% scholarships.
* Applicants with a High Graduation Examination score of at least 22 for three subjects and an English score of 5 or greater 5 will receive an English language scholarship of 20 million vnd.
The UIU On-Site Study-Abroad programs at DTU include IT, Business Administration, Financial Management and Information Networking.
A large number of scholarships are being granted to high achievers in 2016
* 15 scholarships of 20 million vnd each from Boeing Aircraft, for students entering the advanced CMU program.
* 10 scholarships of 10 million vnd each from the University of Pennsylvania for students entering the advanced PSU program.
* 10 scholarships worth 50% of the tuition fee for the first semester, equivalent to 9 million vnd each, to students enrolling in the advanced CSU Architecture program, in conjunction with California State University.
* 10 scholarships worth 30% of the tuition fee for the first semester, equivalent to 9 million vnd each, to students enrolling in the advanced CSU Civil Engineering, in conjunction with California State University.
* 40 scholarships of 5 million vnd each for students enrolling in CMU, PSU or CSU programs.
720 DTU scholarships are based on the High Graduation Examination score in three subjects:
* 20 scholarships of 5 million vnd each, for a score of 10 or greater than the admission standard.
* 30 scholarships of 4 million vnd each, for a score of 9 above.
* 40 scholarships of 3.5 million vnd each, for a score of 8 above.
* 50 scholarships of 3 million vnd each, for a score of 7 above.
* 60 scholarships of 2.5 million vnd each, for a score of 6 above.
* 70 scholarships of 2 million vnd each, for a score of 5 above.
* 200 scholarships of 1.5 million vnd each, for a score of 4 above.
* 250 scholarships of 1 million vnd each, for a score of 3 above.
* First year scholarships worth 50 million vnd will be granted to students of the Doctor of Medicine program scoring a minimum of 24.5 for three subjects, including Maths, Chemistry and Biology, in the National High School Final Exam.
* Students from Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Quang Ngai, Ha Tinh, Nghe An and Thanh Hoa will each be awarded 1 million vnd enrolling in the Digital Design, Electrical Automation, Graphic Design/Game/Multimedia or General Nursing programs.
* Scholarships will be awarded to first year students scoring a minimum of 24, enrolling in any major, except the Doctor of Medicine program.
* Scholarships worth 50% of the tuition fee for the first semester will be awarded to students scoring a minimum of 23 in three subjects, including Maths, Chemistry and Biology, enrolling in any majors, except the Doctor of Medicine program.
* Scholarships worth 20% of the tuition fee for the first semester will be awarded to students of Environmental Technology & Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering and Road and Bridge Construction.
For admission based on School Record, DTU will grant scholarships based on the total score in three subjects:
* 250 scholarships of 2 million vnd each to applicants with a minimum score of 24.
* 200 scholarships of 1,500,000 vnd each to applicants with a minimum score of 22.
* 150 scholarships of 500,000 vnd each to applicants with a minimum score of 21.
A generous DTU scholarship program in 2015-2016 attracted several high-achieving applicants, with 814 students scoring between 20 and 30 points. One student with a National Prize enrolled In the On-Site Study-Abroad program with Upper Iowa University, with another 28 scoring between 24 and 30.
Nguyen Thi Thanh, a DTU valedictorian in 2015-2016, said: “With 28.25 points, I had many good alternatives but chose DTU’s On-Site Study-Abroad program. During my first year, I have studied with DTU lecturers and professors from Upper Iowa University, who use the latest teaching methods. It has been a remarkable experience and I now realize that the path I chose is the right one. I don’t need to go all the way to America, I can live and study in a ‘Small America’ at home and graduate with a US degree.”
