The DTU Civil Engineering and Architecture Programs

There are more and more modern and attractive high buildings in Vietnam today, which reflect the national cultural style. This affirms the importance of the need for skilled workers in the fields of Construction and Architecture. DTU has educated talented engineers for several years to meet this need.

The Civil Engineering and Architecture programs have attracted a large number of applicants nationally since enrollment began. They currently include Road and Bridge Construction, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Interior Design and Arts and Multimedia Design.

Since 2010, DTU has collaborated with California State University in Fullerton and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, well-known for their construction and architecture education, to improve the quality of education by developing the first advanced Architecture and Civil Engineering and Architecture programs in the Central region. DTU also began offering Master’s degree program of Civil Engineering in 2011.

At the same time, DTU has focused on improving the quality and quantity of its staff.  Several of them graduated with Masters and PhD degrees in foreign countries, such as Germany, France, Russia and Canada. Recently, the faculty has made significant achievements in research, publishing papers in ISI-indexed journals and well-known international magazines, and several of these projects have been conducted in conjunction with local businesses.

DTU has signed agreements with companies locally and nationwide to broaden internship and job opportunities for students. Competitions are frequently held for them to demonstrate their talent and aspirations in design and construction.

DTU students win big prizes in Construction and Architecture

Dang Xuan Nam was the first student from Danang to win first prize in the National Loa Thanh Tournament in 2010. Since then, DTU students won second, third and consolation prizes there. At the National Architecture Festival in 2016, DTU gained 14 awards, outnumbering other universities in Danang and Hue.

The DTU IDEERS team won the Asia-Pacific Regional IDEERS Champions Cup at the 2014 IDEERS convention, held at the National Centre for Research on Earthquake Engineering in Taiwan, surpassing other strong teams from Seoul National University, the National University of Singapore, the National University of Taiwan, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and others. They came third in 2013 and 2015.

Several DTU graduates now hold important positions in national and foreign companies, including CSCEC International Construction and Engineering in Malaysia, RFR Vietnam, TECCO5, Trung Nam Group, the Coteccon Group, RFR Vietnam and the Hoa Binh Group, proving that DTU is moving in the right direction in steadily implementing international curricula.
