In 2015, the Prime Minister approved educational institutions in Vietnam to become more autonomous and proactive in student enrollment procedures and financing.
Many Vietnamese universities have implemented sharp increases in tuition fees. In contrast, DTU always considers parents and students’ financial circumstances, focusing on controlling tuition fees. DTU has enacted preferential policies, especially to support students coming from regions of drought or environmental pollution, with loans or reduced fees, in order to encourage them to achieve their dreams of becoming the future leaders of Vietnam. DTU is sharing the burden of students and parents, and concentrating on the improvement our country and its intellectual development.
DTU’s spacious new facilities
Previously public universities offered attractive tuition fees, but, as a result of their new financial autonomy, many have raised their fees to the level of private institutions. Many applicants and parents are now divided in their choice of a school with the best educational quality and services.
It can be see today that many universities, including public ones, now charge an average of between 16 to 18 million vnd a year, with a few costing between 36 to 50 million vnd.
Recently DTU tuitions fees have held at 13 million vnd a year, which is low compared to other public universities in the area, and also much lower than most other private universities.
DTU Students win high awards in National and International Competitions
DTU students pay a fixed fee for 16 credits a semester. The interesting thing about this credit-based system is that students can actually sign up for 19 credits per semester but only pay for 16, with the 3 free extra credits per semester or 6 free credits per year. In addition, the five Physical Education credits are completely free for the entire course.
In 2016, DTU is offering 1,200 scholarships, with a total value of 5 billion vnd. These include 720 scholarships for students with high scores at the National High School Graduation Final Examination and 40, worth 5 million vnd each, for leaders in the advanced international programs of CMU, PSU, CSU. Students of Environmental Technology & Engineering, Resource and Environmental Management, Interior Architecture, Civil Engineering and Road & Bridge Construction can get a 20% discount in their first year. Those who score at least 27 points in Maths, Chemistry and Biology in the National High School Graduation Final Examination will receive full scholarships for the first year if they enroll in any majors at DTU, except for the Doctor of Medicine program. Boeing Aircraft will continue to grant 15 scholarships of 20 million vnd each and the University of Pennsylvania 10 scholarships of 10 million vnd each.
For Study-Abroad programs, including the 1+1+2, the 2+2 and the 3+1, candidates receive free visa application advice. Partners in the Study-Abroad programs include Purdue University, Appalachian State University, Lorain County Community College, all in the USA, Coventry University in the UK, and others. For the On-Site Study-Abroad program at Upper Iowa University, students will now pay only $2,500 per year, 50% down from the previous fee of $5,000, whereas tuition for US students is $24,000. DTU also grants 50 partial and full scholarships, totaling 16 billion vnd, to students with at least 22 points in the National High School Graduation Final Examination who enroll in the On-Site Study-Abroad program. DTU also offers students loans of up to 10 million VND a year through the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies in Danang.
Studens who take the opportunity to study for only 13 million a year at a well-known, high-quality university, with notable successes in major competitions awarded to DTU lecturers and students, will make an intelligent choice, which will enable them to make even more significant successes themselves in the future.
