Literature and Art – Two Good Ways to Foster Patriotism

On May 14th, a partnership ceremony took place between DTU and three Writers’ Associations from Ho Chi Minh, Danang and Thua Thien Hue. Attendees included the Chairmen of the three associations, DTU provosts and DTU students.

Distinguished Teacher and Labor Hero, Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost said: “The history of Vietnam, through war and peace, demonstrates the importance of literature and art in education today. We will not forget the movement named “The Sound of the Singing Drowns Out the Noise of the Bombs” in the North and “We Hear the Singing of our Compatriots” in the South. Unfortunately, enthusiasm for these movements has gradually waned. Today, our youth mostly focus on their quest for good careers on graduation and sometimes forget to stay aware of their communal responsibilities.
