The bankers gave an introduction and an analysis of the development trends in banking in Vietnam today, future banking workforce requirements, professional opportunities and career development in the banking industry. This enabled students to create more rigorous study plans and target future career opportunities. The bankers enthusiastically shared their knowledge and experiences, which they had learnt by undertaking various responsibilities in their banks, such as credit, auditing, trading jobs and customer relations.
Students played the role of graduate job hunters in mock hiring interviews and the bankers pointed out their strengths and weaknesses. Students learnt about face-to-face communication, telephone and response skills.
“This seminar was useful for students like myself who are about to graduate,” said Dao Xuan Hung of the K18 PSUQNH2 class. “As a result of the simulations, I learnt new skills and now feel more confident about job interviews and going out into professional banking on graduation.”
The seminar bridged banking students and recruiters, and the students now understood career opportunities better and how to orient themselves in today’s business and social environment.
