Mr. Dang Ngoc Trung, Director of the the DTU Center for Enrollment and Media confirmed that DTU signed an agreement on April 26th with Dixie State University in the USA to collaborate in filmmaking.
Their first 3D documentary reconstructs the famous battle between the Vietnamese and American Air Forces and militia to defend the Ham Rong Bridge in the War of Resistance.
The film crew visited Thanh Hoa and, with the kind help of the local authorities, interviewed, recorded and filmed witnesses and heroes who directly participated in the dogfights to protect the bridge.
“The university has invested over 20 billion VND in this documentary,” said Mr Dang Ngoc Trung. “The films we produce here are officially reviewed and endorsed and will be used in teaching Social Sciences and the Humanities.”
Hero of Labor Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost, is considering the production of other documentaries portraying the nine days of capturing Danang in 1964 and the isurrection to seize Danang, which lasted for 78 days in 1966”. Mr.Co is the most informed, surviving witnesses of these two events.
The first documentary about the battle to defend the Ham Rong Bridge will be produced by the French director Raphael Didierjean, currently Manager of the DTU Film Project.
