The 2016 National Physics Olympiad Opens at DTU

On April 21st, the opening ceremony of the 2016 National Physics Olympiad took place at DTU. This year’s contest attracted around 400 students from 49 institutes, universities and colleges nationwide, marking the highest number of contestants and delegations so far.

The Vietnam Physical Society collaborated with the Ministry of Education & Training, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Vietnam Students' Association, the Central committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Duy Tan University to hold the 2016 National Physics Olympiad, from April 21st to 24th.
 
According to Associate Professor Chu Dinh Thuy, Vice President of the Vietnam Physical Society, the annual Olympiad aimed to encourage young talents in Physics to promote their ability and creativity. This will, in turn, help enhance the quality of Physics teaching and learning programs at universities and colleges nationwide.
 
All contestants have to pass three competitive parts, including multi-choice test, experimental test and doing exercises. 
 
As part of the event, contestants participate in academic exchange meetings, musical festival and sightseeing.
