Achievements

Individuals and Teams Receive Awards from the Ministry of Information and Communications

The Ministry of Information and Communications has presented awards to three teams and six individuals with outstanding achievements in organizing and participating in the 2015 ASEAN Cyber Sea Games.

On Vietnam Information Security Day 2015, held on December 1st in Hanoi, the Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, recognized six students from the University of Information Technology at Vietnam National University in HCMC and from Duy Tan University for their significant accomplishments at the 2015 ASEAN Cyber Sea Games.

Fourteen teams from ASEAN and Japan took part in the finals on November 11th in Indonesia. The two Vietnamese teams both did well, although it was the first time they had entered the competition. They both already had a comprehensive knowledge of Cyber Security.   
 
The first Vietnamese team, comprising Duong Tan Quoc, Dang Minh Tri and Nguyen Manh Luat of the University of Information Technology at Vietnam National University in HCMC won the championship with 2,050 points, 500 higher than Thailand, who came second. The second Vietnamese team, of Vo Viet Tung, Nguyen Tan Phat and Tran Nhu Minh from Duy Tan University, was also recognized for its excellent performance and ranked high in the competition. 
 
The Ministry of Information and Communications also awarded prizes to three other teams, from the University of Information Technology at Vietnam National University in HCMC, Duy Tan University and the Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Team (VNCERT). 
 
The theme of the 2015 Information Security Day was entitled “The Devastatingly Destructive Trend of Modern Cyber-Attacks”.
