The competition was sponsored by the Vietnam Huawei Technology Company and organized by the Vietnam Informatics Association for the benefit of Informatics students nationwide, from September 10th to November 10th. Students from forty universities and colleges nationwide attended, from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the University of Information Technology of the National University in HCMC, the Military Technical Academy, the University of Science of Vietnam of the National University in HCMC, Duy Tan University and others. One hundred and eighty-three applications were submitted.
In “Fly Guy”, players are taken on a flight to a miraculous country with the little “Guy”, who wants to explore nature. They must overcome dangerous obstacles, such as “greedy for fighting” bees and dishonest and cruel birds to achieve high scores. “Fly Guy” can teach players to become more self-confident and overcome their difficulties. The high quality and the story of “Fly Guy” won the hearts of the judges.
Hoang Van Sy said: “Though I study Network Engineering, I have a deep appreciation of game programming. I was fortunate to receive the support and encouragement of my DTU lecturers of Software Engineering, so I was able to perfect 'Fly Guy' in just two months. This is the first time I have participated a large-scale IT competition and I won second prize, which surprised me. Previously, I had designed a game called 'One Jump', which I posted on Google Play. I also will post 'Fly Guy' for players everywhere. My award has encouraged me to continue designing more unique games and play my part to the benefit of our community”.
