On November 17th, DTU and the Vietnam Physics Society held the 3rd International Conference on Spectroscopy and Material Science. Fifteen scientists from France, Japan, Korea, Germany, Italy, China, Belgium and Laos and researchers from universities and institutes in Vietnam attended.
Professor Vu Xuan Quang addresses the meeting
Professor Vu Xuan Quang, DTU Vice-Provost, said: “Eighteen years ago, a conference on Vibrational Spectroscopy was organized in Vietnam for the first time, based on an idea of scientists from CNRS in France and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. The conferences have been held almost every year in different Vietnamese cities and, since 2012, the conference has been sponsored by Duy Tan University in Danang. The objective is to develop research projects in Spectroscopy and Material Science and, at the same time, to broaden international relations. DTU warmly welcomes leading scientists in Spectroscopy and Material Science, from Vietnam and abroad. Your active participation is a key factor in the success of our 2015 conference.”
Professor Masayuki Nogami, President of the Japanese Sol-Gel Society
Professor Masayuki Nogami of the Nagoya Institute of Technology and President of the Sol-Gel Society in Japan talked about achievements over the past ten years of collaboration with DTU. He was delighted with the objectives of this year’s conference, to give researchers the opportunity to present recent news about Spectroscopy and talk about its impact on research institutes in Vietnam and abroad.
Thirty-four papers were discussed on applications of Spectroscopy in Biology, Pharmacology, Archaeology and Fluorescence; the latest applications of Spectroscopy; the Spectroscopy of Nano materials; Spectroscopy Applications in environmental research; Photogrammetry, Quantum Information, and so on.
