The Qualification Round of the 2015 WhiteHat Grand Prix - Global Challenge, organized by BKAV, took place on October 24th and 25th, with 467 teams from 67 countries participating. The ISITDTU team proved their competency, finishing 6th in Vietnam and 22nd in the world.
The ISITDTU team
This was the first global Cyber-Security competition to be held in Vietnam. With its theme "Hello, Vietnam!”, experts came from all over the world to compete, demonstrate their abilities and learn more about Vietnam. The teams answered 26 problems correctly on applications such as Web Exploit, Reverse, Pwnable, Forensics and Crypto. Each correct answer revealed a video clip or photo of well-known places in Vietnam and a hidden suggestion for a special question.
The ISITDTU team overcame strong opposition and scored 900 points in the 24-hour online contest. Vo Viet Tung, a student of the DTU K18TMT class, said: “The competition was attended by hundreds of skilled IT experts and students, which put us under pressure. We successfully combined our knowledge of IT and our soft skills and were strongly supported by our DTU lecturers and more senior students, who gave us the confidence to face teams from universities and colleges worldwide.”
