On September 25th, in conjunction with the National office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam and the Danang Department of Science and Technology, DTU held a training course on Intellectual Property Information Exploitation. Attendees included Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien of the National office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam, Mr. Dang Huu Tuan, Head of the Danang Copyright Office of Vietnam, Ms. Vu Thi Bich Hau, Deputy Director of the Danang Department of Science and Technology, Professor Vu Xuan Quang, DTU Vice-Provost, lecturers, staff and students.

The training course aimed to give DTU lecturers and students guidance on the essential skills of accessing and using intellectual property in their teaching and research. It clarified some of the copyright and related laws, the procedures to register patents and the use of patented information in research, development, manufacturing, and business.

According to Mr. Tuan, the objective of this annual training course was to divulge and promote implementation of copyright laws and to increase awareness of intellectual property at the university. Using information from other people’s work, inventions and patents in accordance with the law will enhance the quality of teaching and research and the standard of education at the university.
The training course attracted broad attention and similar programs will be organized in the near future.
