On August 7th, at the signing of a comprehensive partnership agreement between DTU and FPT Software, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Phuong, Director of FPT Software Danang said: “FPT Software has always placed great importance on human resources, which has helped us make significant achievements and enter the Fortune 500 list of international software companies. DTU has provided us with a large pool of young, capable graduates, who have contributed to our development.”
The collaboration will help tighten the relationship between the university and business, enhance the quality of education and provide students with real-world experience and internships before graduation.
The signing between DTU and FPT
Representatives of FPT and DTU summarized their missions, operations and accomplishments. Mr. Nguyen Tuan Phuong, said: “FPT Software has taken strategic steps to achieve our objectives. Presently, we now have more than 180 customers worldwide, some of whom are Fortune 500 companies. Over the past few years, we have always placed great importance on the development of human resources and we thank DTU. We now plan to assist you in the definition of student qualifications, which will enable us to provide the optimum curricula to tailor your IT skills to match the current local business requirements.”
Under the agreement, DTU and FPT Software will organize seminars for students, defining job requirements, the business process and culture, as well as recruitment and career advice. The partners will collaborate in technology training, conferences and research projects and students will have opportunity to acquire practical experience by participating in field trips and internships and will be offered suitable jobs if they satisfy FPT Software’s requirements.
Facilities for IT study at DTU
FPT Software transferred teaching materilas for a course entitled: “A Training Program for New IT students” to DTU, starting in the 2014-2015 academic year. DTU students will study basic Database, SQL and Java topics, an advanced SQL Tutorial, Java Web, Software Requirements and Design, programming, testing, and so on.
Dr. Le Nguyen Bao, DTU Vice-Provost, said: “It can’t be denied that the relationship between business and higher education is not strong enough, which results in an imbalance in the capabilities of graduates and the harsh demands of employers. DTU believes that this comprehensive partnership with FPT Software, the leading provider of software outsourcing services in Vietnam, will help tightened our working relationship and greatly enhance the quality of IT human resources in our community.”
