With a score of 22 in her university entrance exam, Thuy Tien became a valedictorian of Quang Nam University. However, she was not concerned with the differences between private and public universities and chose DTU, the first and largest private university in the Central Region, as an ideal place to pursue her ambition to become a pharmacist.
Like many other new students, Thuy Tien could not hide her excitement on the first day of the new school year. Listeners could sense her deep passion for Pharmacy when she talked warmly about her wish to lovingly taking care of sick people.

The images of dedicated, kind-hearted doctors and pharmacists in white blouses in TV serials initially sparked her interest and became her childhood dream. She dedicated herself to study hard at school. She achieved high test scores and was ranked as one of the top students at the Le Khiet High School for the Gifted.
She said: "My friends said that I must have been a 'bookworm' to gain such high scores. Actually, I just studied hard and never worried. I learned everything by heart and then I combined my theoretical education with practical experience to broaden my knowledge, whilst also participating in extra-curricular activities.”
Many students apply to DTU
Studying and taking part in activities simultaneously helped her mentally and physically. At high school, she took part in the “Fundraising for the Children’s Hearts” program and helped poor children with incurable diseases. She knows that the dedicated care of doctors and pharmacists often helps patients to overcome their pain and live well. This became the driving force for her to study hard. Like many other candidates, her only dream was to pass the entrance exam and she was very surprised to become a valedictorian of Quang Nam University.
Her parents fully supported her ambition to become a pharmacist. They discovered her ability early and encouraged her to study hard to make her dream come true. “Our daughter loves reading books about natural science, medicine and remedies. She has spent much time researching on the Internet and buying pharmaceutical books”, her mother said. Her achievements resulted from her sustained hard work and parental support.
Thuy Tien’s parents said: “Our family supported her choice to study Pharmacy and we are very happy that she gained high admission marks to the DTU Faculty of Pharmacy. We have spent much time familiarizing ourselves with DTU, as well as the pharmaceutical requirements of the community. With DTU’s modern facilities and focus on Pharmacy training, we believe that our daughter will graduate as a highly-qualified young pharmacist.”
A new door has now opened for Thuy Tien. She will take full advantage of the many opportunities at DTU to pursue her passion for Pharmacy and become the pharmacist of her dreams.
